Celebrating 125 Years of Success: Outstanding Matric Results from DSP's Class of 2024

As the Deutsche Internationale Schule Pretoria (DSP) celebrated its 125th Jubilee year, the Class of 2024 has upheld the school’s proud tradition of academic excellence with outstanding matric results. The class achieved a 100% pass rate among its 31 learners, with an impressive total of 62 subject distinctions, averaging 2 distinctions per learner. Every graduate has earned a Bachelor’s degree pass, reaffirming DSP’s dedication to fostering academic success.

Adding to this achievement, 12 learners completed the prestigious German International Abitur alongside the NSC, achieving an exceptional provisional average score of 2.33. This internationally recognised diploma underscores DSP’s commitment to offering a world-class, multilingual education grounded in the esteemed German education model. The Abitur curriculum nurtures independence, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills, ensuring learners are well-prepared for global opportunities.

Despite the challenging learning conditions during the pandemic, the students have shown exceptional dedication and talent,” remarked Mr. Haß, Principal of the Deutsche Internationale Schule Pretoria, after the mark statements were handed out.

The Deutsche Internationale Schule Pretoria (DSP), which offers tuition from 3 months to Grade 12 is independently rated as an international school of excellence. Young minds are prepared for a global future from an early age. Learners in the higher grades are continuously exposed to the challenges of tertiary education and the future. Teaching is guided by German as well as South African syllabi and prepares learners for the different school-leaving certificates that can be obtained at the DSP.

A dual school-leaving certificate is comprised of:

-          The German International Abitur and the National Senior Certificate (NSC) from the Independent Examination Board (IEB), called the Kombi-Abitur or;

-          The NSC from the IEB together with the German Language Diploma Level 2.
