Vivace – Young Musicians Development Programme

Vivace is a fundraising initiative by the Deutsche Internationale Schule Pretoria to the benefit of the DSP Young Musicians Development Programme (YMDP). This year’s Vivace evening of music and culinary delights returns to Forti Grill & Bar on 20 October 2019.

Framework of YMDP
Learners who are taught to play an instrument in the elective subject Orchestra in Grade 5 and 6 receive financial support from the school, if their circumstances warrant support. After Grade 6 the school does not have the means to continue to support these learners. The result is that certain less fortunate learners can no longer receive music tuition or loan an instrument from the school at a fee. Their dreams and chances of playing in the DSP Orchestra cannot be fulfilled. With the DSP fund we hope to enable talented musicians to continue their music tuition in order to pave the way for their musical future.

Purpose of the fund

YMDP supports in the following ways:

  • Payment of instrument loan fees
  • Payment of music lessons

Types of sponsoring

Private sponsorships or general donations can be made.

Private sponsorship:
The cost for a private sponsorship is R5500 per annum. This covers the loan of an instrument and music lessons for the learner.

A private sponsorship entitles the sponsor to two reserved seats to every music event that the DSP hosts as well as two free drinks and memorabilia (CD or images) from the event, if available.

General donations will go towards music tuition fees for learners.
